Lynda Brunson Nye
July 31, 1943 – June 13, 2025
Lynda Brunson Nye, of Orrum, North Carolina, left her earthly body to be with her Lord on June 13, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Born in Dillon County, South Carolina, Lynda was raised in Latta alongside her parents and four brothers. From a young age, she was active in her church and community, laying the foundation for a life marked by faith, warmth, and service to others.
Lynda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was found in the presence of her family. In 1977, she married the love of her life, Ronald Nye, and together they blended a family of five cherished daughters: Lynette Britt, Rhonda Oulman (Peter), Renee Inman, Lea Britt (Tracy), and Mikey Fulk (Cody). As the office manager of Ronald M. Nye Construction Company, her friendly smile greeted everyone who came through the doors.
She will be remembered for her southern cooking that brought people together, her warm smile that lit up any room, and the open arms that welcomed countless friends and loved ones into her heart and home. For years, she welcomed countless patrons to Ms. Lynda’s Christmas Trees, where her love for the holiday shone as brightly as the lights on every tree. With her warmth and genuine spirit, she had a way of turning customers into lifelong friends. Lynda’s life was anchored by her deep spiritual connection, her love for her family, and the enduring bond she shared with her beloved mother, Mildred “Mimi” Brunson.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Samuel Brunson, and her brother, Eddie Brunson.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald Nye; her daughters; her grandchildren, Garrett, Jeremy, Whitney, Collin, Walker, Jennings, Boone, and Bridger; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Caden, Tristan, Sage, Sky, and Cassiopeia; and her brothers, Buddy (Henry) Brunson (Dottie), Jerry Brunson (Barbara) and Rocky Brunson (Lynn). She also leaves behind a host of extended family and dear friends who were blessed by her love.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC, with Rev. Jerry Brunson and Rev. Dean Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Broad Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 949 N. Broadridge Road in Orrum, NC.
Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
