IN MEMORIAM: Jimmy Ray McKenzie

Jimmy Ray McKenzie, 81, passed away at the McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee in Florence, SC January 10, 2025. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in the Kannaday Funeral Home Chapel in Dillon, SC with Pastor Billy Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 13, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon.
Jimmy was born in Dillon, SC December 30, 1943, the son of the late Grady McKenzie and Lucille Coleman McKenzie. He was a member of Summerton Baptist Church and a member of the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Team. He retired from CSX Railroad as a Track Supervisor. He was a Mason and a Shriner.
Jimmy Ray is survived by his son, Danny Ray McKenzie (Vivian) of Woodstock, GA; daughter, Connie McKenzie Wise (Richard) of Summerton, SC; brothers, Grady “Dick” McKenzie (Kay) of Dillon, SC and Dr. Michael McKenzie (Estelle) of Greenwood, SC; sister, Christine Carmichael of Hamer, SC; grandchildren, Dillon Walker, Christine Fullmore, Victoria M. Wise, Zachary McKenzie, and Nicholas McKenzie. He was predeceased by his wife, JoAnn Thompson McKenzie; son, Jimmy Ray McKenzie, Jr.; brother Sherwood McKenzie; sisters, Maxine Tyndall and Faye Arnette.
