MARION – Mrs. Frances Fulmer, 89, passed away Sunday July 21, 2024, following an illness.
Born August 6, 1934 in Newberry County, Mrs. Fulmer was one of ten children born to the late Horace Asbury Livingston, Sr., and Essie Louise Long Livingston. She was the widow of Rev. David Eugene Fulmer, who preceded her to Heaven in 2021.
Mrs. Fulmer was predeceased by six of her siblings: William Felix (Mary) Livingston, Horace Asbury Livingston, Jr., Florence Livingston (Albert) Haltiwanger, Lynn Livingston (Odell) Ruff, Leander (Brenda) Livingston, and David (Diane) Livingston. She was also predeceased by sisters-in-law Mary Livingston, Brenda Livingston and brothers-in-law Albert Haltiwanger, Odell Ruff, Jim Rikard, James Carol Fulmer, Colie Marvin Fulmer, Herman Odell Fulmer, Sr., and Joseph Roy Fulmer.
Mrs. Fulmer and her husband Rev. David Fulmer celebrated 62 years of marriage prior to his homegoing. They have four sons: Hank E. (Lisa) Fulmer, Timothy H. Fulmer (deceased in 2023), Philip C. (Judy) Fulmer, and Andrew L. (Tenisha) Fulmer. In addition, they have 11 grandchildren: Eric (Kaleigh) Fulmer, Timothy H. (Samantha) Fulmer II, Seth Fulmer, Justin Fulmer, Nicholas Fulmer, Kaitlyn Fulmer, Jonathan (Sarah) Fulmer, Caleb (Rachael) Fulmer, Aaron Fulmer, and Julia Fulmer. A granddaughter Tristan Nicole (Nikki) Fulmer has been with the Lord since infancy. They also have one great-grandson Tennessee (Tenn) Fulmer.
Mrs. Fulmer is survived by her brother Virgil (Ann) Livingston, her sisters Magdalene Livingston (Jim) Rikard and Llewella Livingston (Herman Sr.) Fulmer, and her sisters-in-law Diane Livingston, Lidie Fulmer, Frances Fulmer, and Joyce Fulmer. She also is survived by 28 nieces and nephews and many extended family members.
Mrs. Fulmer was a faithful wife to her husband as they served Southern Methodist Churches for over 50 years. She often taught Sunday School and directed Vacation Bible School, engaging children with fun songs to sing and a sharp command of the Word of God. The family was called to churches in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. Prior to retirement in 2015, she and her husband were serving the Bethesda Southern Methodist Church near Latta SC. After retirement, they attended Ebenezer Southern Methodist Church in Marion County where their son pastors.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 24, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethesda Southern Methodist Church in the Oak Grove community of Dillon County. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Lanny Carpenter and Rev. Steven Reynolds will officiate the service.
