Donald Edward “Don” Luehrs, Jr., 68, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024 at Union Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Born in Medina, Ohio, January 18, 1956, he was the son of the late Donald Edward Luehrs, Sr. and Anna Phelan Luehrs. He was a former Chief Meteorologist for 20 years at WBTW Television Station, and was the Hospice Liasion with Agape Hospice for 13 years. Don was a member of Union Baptist Church, a graduate of Penn State University, and he was a Philadelphia Phillies baseball and Penn State football fan.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Johnnie Luehrs of Latta; God-son, Nathan Barrentine; very close friends, Dr. Kem Stanton and Rose; brothers and sisters, Donna Council, Marge Savard, Carol Luehrs, Nancy (Joe) Melecki, Cathy (Mark) Myslinski, and Sue (Don) Laderer; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and his Union Baptist Church family.
