Arthur “Artie” Lonnie Quick Jr., 70, passed away at the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence August 21, 2025. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Main Street Methodist Church with Reverend Henry Altman officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to service in the church. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
Artie was born in Dillon, SC, the son of the late Arthur Lonnie Quick and Lois Margaret Floyd Quick. He retired as a teacher from the Dillon School District. He was an avid fisherman and very talented woodworker. Before electronics became “throw away,” Artie could repair almost anything in electronics. He helped start and was past Commander and Secretary of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Captain Andrew T. Harllee Camp 2010 and a member of the Harllee Guard reenactors.
Artie is survived by his son, Arthur “Art” Lonnie Quick, III (Breana) of Marion, SC; grandchildren, Evelyn Persephone Quick, Maverick Atlas Quick, Arthur Lonnie Quick, IV, and Cullen James Quick; Aunt, Bobbie Floyd, Fairmont, NC, brother-in-law, Ray Rogers of Dillon and nephew, Tray Rogers of Dillon.. He was predeceased by his wife, Lynn Richardson Quick, and his sister, Debbie Quick Rogers.
