Some improvements will soon be coming to the cart paths at the City of Dillon Vivian Johnson Memorial golf course.
At a recent meeting, Dillon City Manager Burt Rogers told the council that he is working on a project that will repair the cart paths that are at the golf course. He said this is earmarked money coming straight from Columbia and is not coming out of city funds. This money cannot be spent for anything other than the golf course.
Council gave him the authority as the chief procurement officer to open and award the bid to the lowest bidder.
The project description calls for “The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, grading, removing of all old asphalt surfaces, and labor necessary to construct approximately 10,000 LF of 4” thick and 6’ wide of new (3000) concrete surface.”
Fifteen bids were received. The highest bid came in at $1.089.937.50 and the lowest bid was $248, 336.
Carolina Gold Construction was awarded the bid in the amount of $248,336. The work on the project is expected to begin around May 14th.
