Congratulations to Henry Brunson, who celebrates 61 years in the fire service this month having joined the Latta Fire Department on August 25, 1963. Brunson has served in various capacities including the fire chief of the department and can tell many stories about how the fire department differs from the time he joined until the present day. In 2015, Brunson obtained his Firefighter One and Firefighter Two certifications at the age of 76. Brunson is well-known for his delicious chicken bog and for his work with the group, Cooks for Christ. He is also known for his outstanding gardens, especially his tomatoes and collards.
