Groundbreaking Ceremony Held For Lake View Town Square

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Lake View Town Square on Friday, October 17th, at 6:00 p.m., marking the official start of construction.
Upon the gracious donation of land from the Lake View First Baptist Church, the Town of Lake View was able to then move forward with the Town Square Project. Funding for this project in the amount of $75,000 was secured through an earmarked appropriation made possible by Senator Kent Williams, following a successful grant request written and submitted by Municipal Clerk
Amanda Garris on behalf of the Town as well as an additional $10,000 that was also requested and received from the RALI Group of Dillon County. Part of those funds also supported the newly installed security fencing around the splash pad at the Centennial Park over the Summer.
Support for this project also comes from Mayor Suggs, the Lake View Town Council, as well as the Lake View Beautification Committee.
The new Lake View Town Square will feature green space, comfortable benches, tranquil lighting, a decorative fountain, and a community mural, creating a peaceful and inviting environment for residents and visitors alike. The space will serve as a central gathering place for local events, family outings, and small community gatherings, while also helping to stimulate economic growth and downtown revitalization.
“The Lake View Town Square represents more than just a beautification project—it’s an investment in the future of Lake View,” said Mayor Suggs. “It will give our citizens and visitors a place to come together, reflect, and enjoy the charm of our town.” stated from the Town Council.
Construction will soon be underway, and the Town looks forward to hosting a grand opening celebration upon completion, marking a new chapter in Lake View’s continued growth and community pride.
