Graduate Recognition Held At Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Clio

On Sunday, June 15, 2025, Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Clio, SC, recognized their members who graduated from high school and college. They were blessed to have two high school graduates and four college graduates. Melody Blue graduated from Marlboro County High School and will attend the University of South Carolina, majoring in biology with aspirations of becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Gavin Blue graduated from Marlboro County High School and will attend the University of South Carolina, majoring in Pre-Pharmacy with aspirations of becoming a Doctor of Pharmacy. Jameson Blue graduated from South Carolina State University in the fall of 2024 with a BS in Criminal Justice. Za’Ria Evans graduated from Benedict College with a Master of Science in Sports Medicine. Za’Ria will pursue a career as a Student Athletic Coordinator. Shaniya McInnis graduated from the University of South Carolina Upstate with a BS degree in Criminal Justice. Shaniya is currently working on her paralegal certification with the aspiration of attending law school. Amina Quick graduated from Clemson University with a major in History and a minor in Religion. She will attend graduate school in the Fall.
Also on Sunday, Melody Blue was awarded the Rev. Robert Powe Scholarship and the Legette Memorial Scholarship. Gavin Blue was awarded the Rev. James Lacy Lide and Legette Memorial scholarships. The Rev. Robert Powe and James Lacy Lide scholarship is given yearly to students who attend Ebenezer based on their academic achievement, church attendance, and participation. The Legette Memorial Scholarship is given to students in the Dillon and/or Marlboro County areas on behalf of their family. Each student was presented with a graduation gift from the church. Eva Chiphe, Cathelyn Quick, Harriet McCray, and Veronica Bostic are the scholarship committee members. The graduation committee members are Rev. LJ Powe, Lashawn Palmer, and Angela Hepburn.
