The 7-4 Georgetown Lady Bulldogs defeated the 4-10-1 Dillon Lady Wildcats 15-2 in 6 innings in varsity softball played in Dillon on Friday, April 4.
Georgetown jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after the top of the first inning and held Dillon scoreless in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Bulldogs added 4 runs in the top of the second inning and once again held the Dillon Lady Wildcats scoreless in the bottom of the second inning. Georgetown added 2 runs in the top of the third inning, and Dillon added a run in the bottom of the third inning. Dillon held Georgetown scoreless in the top of the fourth inning while adding a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Neither team could muster a score in the fifth inning. Georgetown added 4 runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Georgetown managed 15 hits and held Dillon to 2 hits. Georgetown committed only 1 error, and Dillon committed 3 errors.
Georgetown’s Kylan Jordan picked up the win. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 6, and struck out 12.
Dillon will host Hartsville on Monday, April 7, at 6:00 p.m. and will travel to Georgetown for a 7:00 p.m. game on Tuesday, April 8.
