Football And Soccer Still Going Strong At The City of Dillon Recreational Fields

Football and soccer activities took place on Tuesday, October 1, at the City of Dillon Recreational Fields located off Hwy. 34 in Dillon.
As I arrived at the Recreational Fields, I noticed how many vehicles were already there. It was great to see so many at the games. Kids actually doing physical activities and actually enjoying themselves. Of course, the spectators really enjoyed the games!
At halftime in the 10U class, Marlboro County led Farm Bureau 18-8.
With 1:23 remaining in the third quarter, Marlboro County’s #4 scored a touchdown followed by #8 who scored 2 points to give Marlboro County a 26-8 lead over Farm Bureau.
Marlboro County’s #7 scored after an interception but the play was nullified due to a penalty.
With 23 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Marlboro County’s #4 scored followed by #22 who rushed for the 2-point conversion to give Marlboro County.

In the first game of soccer, Fred’s Tire and Auto Repair faced Marion. In the second game, Dillon faced Marion.

In the 12U football, Marlboro County faced Dillon.
With 1:04 remaining in the first quarter, Marlboro County’s #20 scored a touchdown on a bad snap. Marlboro County’s #9 rushed for the 2-point conversion to go up 8-0 over Dillon.
With 23 seconds remaining in the first half, Marlboro County’s #3 scored a touchdown. The 2-point conversion failed. At halftime, Marlboro County was up 14-0.
