Final Reminders for Voting in the June Primaries

COLUMBIA, SC (June 6, 2024) – The S.C. State Election Commission (SEC) wants to highlight essential reminders for voting on Election Day, Tuesday, June 11. “We want all voters to be prepared for the polls and have a smooth Election Day,” said Howie Knapp, Executive Director of the SEC, “Don’t miss this opportunity for your voice to be heard.”

Key Tips for Voting on Election Day

Date: Tuesday, June 11

Time: Polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone in line before 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Location: Your election day polling place. You can find your up-to-date polling place by visiting scVOTES.gov or by contacting your county voter registration office.

What to Bring: Voters will be asked to present a current and valid Photo ID when checking in to vote. A list of acceptable Photo IDs include:
-S.C. Driver’s License
-S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles ID Card
-S.C. Voter Registration Card with Photo
-Federal Military ID
-U.S. Passport

I still have my absentee ballot, what should I do?
For the ballot to count, it must be received by the county voter registration office no later than 7:00 p.m. on June 11.
Be sure to sign the voter’s oath and have the return envelope witnessed before returning the ballot. Make sure the witness provides an address.
Instead of mailing your ballot, consider personally delivering your ballot to ensure it arrives on time.
Photo ID is required when returning the absentee ballot in person.
