Ms. Felecia McCollum is the new principal at Dillon Middle School.
She wrote the following introduction at our request:
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new Principal of Dillon Middle School. As the former assistant principal at DMS and an experienced administrator in education, I am prepared to lead and handle the complexities of a new role as middle school principal. I am well versed in school building management, curriculum and instruction, discipline, and overall operations of the middle school environment.
I am 1997 graduate of Dillon High School and have been employed with Dillon District Four since 2009. I have 14 years of experience in education. I believe in academic excellence and student growth. I believe that every child can learn when they are in a safe inclusive learning environment. My education and life experiences have helped create my work ethics, drive, and passion for helping all students reach their dreams and find their way.
My educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Information Management from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Arts in Information Technology Management from Webster University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Coastal Carolina University, and an Education Specialist degree from South Carolina State University. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from South Carolina State University.  Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working as a high school Business teacher at Dillon High School, Assistant Principal at Dillon Middle School, and an adjunct instructor for Northeastern Technical College.
When I started at DMS almost four years ago, I immediately felt welcomed and honored to be a part of a team dedicated to providing the best possible education for all students. Each day working here is a new challenge, but I make it my mission to ensure that our students feel safe and supported. I believe that all students can achieve their goals through hard work and perseverance. My goal is to help teachers and students reach their fullest potential. I feel that combined positivity, flexibility, and resilience will continue to carry us “Onward and Upward” as a school.
I am a member of Magnolia-Stateline AME Church where I serve faithfully and have poured many years into working with the youth in my church and community.
I am the daughter of the late Makum and Maggie Mccollum. My parents have always instilled in me to put God first and with Him all things are possible.
