Explanation Given Of Democratic And Republican Primary Elections In Dillon County

The Democratic and Republican Primary Elections are on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Early voting is now open at the Dillon County Voter Registration Office, 305 West Hampton Street, DIllon, from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. through Friday, June 7th. You must choose a party to vote. It does not matter how you voted in the Presidential Preference Primary. The primary you choose won’t affect how you vote in November.

DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY
If you want to vote in the SHERIFF’S ELECTION, CLERK OF COURT’S ELECTION or if you live in Dillon County Council Districts 1, 3, or 4 and want to vote for COUNTY COUNCIL, you must vote in the DEMOCRATIC Primary. There is no Republican opposition in the Clerk of Court’s race or the Districts 1, 3, and 4 County Council races so unless a petition candidate runs, this election will determine who holds those seats.

REPUBLICAN PRIMARY
If you want to vote in the SOLICITOR’S RACE, you must vote in the REPUBLICAN  Primary. This will be the only race on this ballot. You cannot vote in the Sheriff’s Election, Clerk of Court’s Election, or County Council election if you choose the Republican Primary.
