SUMMARY:Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Program
DESCRIPTION:The Dillon County SC Veterans of the Year Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day program is at Veterans Square on December 7th at 2 p.m. Representative Jackie Hayes will make remarks and has contributed the memorial wreath in memory of his WW-II veteran father Julius (Jack) Franklin Hayes. Commander Thom Thompson will open the program and introduce Mayor Tally McColl. Rev. Dr. James Orr will pray for surviving WW-II veterans\, the families of those named on our Memorial Wall\, and our military forces. Rev. Orr will lead everyone in a moment of silence. Keniah Owens of DHS will sing God Bless America. Lloyd Brown will lead the wreath ceremony. Navy Veteran John Humphrey will play TAPS. Note: Flags are at half-staff all day. County Councilman Kenny Cook will give closing remarks. This is an abbreviated program and should last less than 30 minutes. Please mark your calendars.
