The East Clarendon Lady Wolverines handed the Lake View Lady Wild Gators a 46-33 loss in Lake View on Thursday, January 15.
Lake View held a 12-9 lead after the first quarter but were down by 2 at halftime 21-19. After 3 quarters of play, the Lady Wolverines were up 36-28.
Each team committed 3 fouls in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Lake View committed 5 fouls, and East Clarendon committed 3 fouls. The Lady Wild Gators committed 5 fouls in the third quarter, and the Lady Wolverines committed 5 fouls. Lake View committed only 2 fouls in the final quarter, and East Clarendon committed 5 fouls.
Lake View’s Zy’Kiara Waters led the Lady Wild Gators with 15 points. She had four 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and sank 4 free throws. Sophia Rogers had two 3-point baskets for 6 points. Shayla Johnson had a 2-point basket and hit 2 free throws for 4 points. Kirsten McClellan had two 2-point baskets to add 4 points to the scoreboard. Aura Green connected for a 2-point basket. Callie Smith sank 2 free throws.
East Clarendon’s Cherish Cochran led all scorers with 22 points. She had nine 2-point baskets , a 3-point basket, and a free throw. Bailey Hizics added 16 points to the scoreboard with three 3-point baskets, three 2-point baskets, and a free throw. Payton Hamiford had a 2-point basket and connected for 2 of 2 free throws for 4 points. Addison Fleming and Tymani Caper each had a 2-point basket.
