FROM THE DILLON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
A drug investigation led to the seizure of firearms, drugs as well as the arrest of two suspects.
On Friday, March 7th, 2025, law enforcement executed a search warrant on a barn located on Beaufort Street in Dillon County, that was obtained by the Dillon County Violent Crime Task Force following a lengthy drug investigation.
Law enforcement with the Dillon county sheriff’s office as well as the Dillon Police department went to this location to execute the warrant, immediately upon arrival 2 individuals attempted to flee from this location, however law enforcement quickly apprehended these individuals.
A search of these individuals and the barn led to the seizure of approximately 28 grams of suspected fentanyl, as well as approximately 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approx. 20grams of marijuana, counterfeit money along with a total of 7 firearms.
Shaheed Ramel Cabbagestalk(41) of Dillon was arrested and charged with:
-Trafficking Fentanyl 14g or more but less than 28g
-Felon in possssuon of firearm
-possession of a weapon during a violent crime
-simple possession marijuana
-Foregery, Value less than $10,000
Je’marcus Antwann Cooper(21) of Florence was arrested and charged with:
-Trafficking Fentanyl 4 grams or more but less than 14gm
-simple possession of marijuana
-possession of a weapon during a violent crime
-Distribution of Methamphetamine.
-Distribution of drugs in schedule I(b)&(c) and schedule II 1st offense(fentanyl)
*these individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law*
These operations will continue within Dillon County in order to make our communities a safer place.
