COLUMBIA, S.C. (May 8, 2024) – The State Election Commission (SEC) is reminding voters to make sure they are registered to vote in the upcoming Statewide Primaries on Tuesday, June 11. “Don’t miss out on having your voice heard at the ballot box,” said Howie Knapp, Executive Director of the SEC, “We urge all voters to check their information now to be sure that it is up to date before the deadline.”
Registration Deadlines:
The deadline to register to vote online, by fax, or by email is Sunday, May 12 by 11:59 p.m.
The deadline to register to vote by mail is Monday, May 13 (must be postmarked by this date).
If you are planning to register in person at your county voter registration office, do it as soon as possible. Some county offices are closed this Friday, May 10, in observance of Confederate Memorial Day.
There are several ways to register:
-Register online at scVOTES.gov (information must be current with the DMV).
-Download a voter registration form at scVOTES.gov. Complete and return the form to your county voter registration office by fax, email, or mail.
-Register in person at your county voter registration office.
-Already Registered? Check your registration at scVOTES.gov to make sure your address is up to date:
-If you have moved from one county to another, you must register in your new county by the deadline to be eligible to vote.
-If you’ve moved within your county or changed your name recently, update your information prior to election day to help ensure a smoother voting process.
