District Four Students Recognized for Academic Excellence

Dillon School District Four Board of Trustees held their regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, October 21, 2024. At the meeting, two students were recognized for making a perfect score on their 2024 spring state assessment. Family members joined district staff and board members at 6:30 p.m. for a recognition ceremony. Ava McRae and Zy’Kiera Aaron were recognized for having a perfect score on their SC READY math test. Superintendent, Ray Rogers, congratulated each student for a job well-done. He presented students with a personalized certificate and a Texas Instruments Scientific Calculator. Mr. Rogers also recognized the parents, administrators, and teachers present for the ceremony. Ava McRae was a 3rd grade student at East Elementary last year. Her 3rd grade teacher, Celeste Gough, and her principal, Shannon Berry, were recognized for their contributions. Ava is the daughter of Krystal Brown and Justin McRae. Zy’Kiera Aaron was in the 7th grade at Dillon Middle School last year. Her principal, Felicia McCollum was present for the ceremony. Zy’Kiera is the daughter of Rashawn and Kimberly Aaron. As a special accolade, Mr. Rogers announced to those in attendance, that this was Zy’Kiera’s third year to be recognized. She had a perfect score on her SC READY math test during the 2022 administration and the 2023 administration. In closing, Ray Rogers told the students to keep up the good work and that he would look forward to seeing them again next year. As the students departed, they also received Halloween bags filled with special treats, selected just for them.
