The Dillon Wildcats won 50-41 over the visiting Marlboro County Bulldogs on Saturday.
The game picked up from the other night with Dillon leading Marlboro County 20-11 with 5:16 remaining in the second quarter.
Dillon’s Zamaurious Robertson sank a 3-point basket followed by Justin Purvis who laid 1 in for 2 points for the Bulldogs. Marlboro County’s Ralphier Monroe scored a 2-point basket. Jazier Walker sank a free throw for Dillon. The Wildcats’ Ejan Brown laid 1 in for 2 points. The Bulldogs’ Justin Purvis scored a 2-point basket that was answered by Dillon’s Ejan Brown with a 2-point basket. The Bulldogs’ Ralphier Monroe scored another 2-point basket. Dillon’s Zamaurious Robertson hit a 3 as the buzzer sounded to end the first half with Dillon on top 32-19.
After Dillon missed 2 shots in a row, the Wildcats’ Rahmond Hamilton connected for 2 points. Marlboro County’s Isiah Whitner sank 2 free throws followed by Isaiah Johnson who hit a 3-point basket. Marlboro County’s #18 hit a 3 from the corner. The Bulldogs’ Jahdon Covington scored a 2-point basket as the buzzer sounded to end the third quarter with Dillon up 40-32.
Dillon’s Jazier Walker connected for a 2-point basket that was answered by the Bulldogs’ Ralphier Monroe with 2 free throws. Dillon’s S. Taylor sank a free throw. The Wildcats’ Jamarion Fling laid 1 in for 2 points after the stole the basketball from Marlboro County. Dillon’s Zamaurious Robertson laid 1 in for 2 points. Marlboro County’s W. Jeffcoat hit a 2-point basket followed by the Bulldogs’ Ralphier Monroe who sank a 2-point basket. Dillon’s S. Taylor sank a free throw followed by the Bulldogs’ Justin Purvis who sank a free throw.
Dillon’s S. Taylor led the Wildcats with 13 points. He had three 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket and 4 free throws. Jamarion Fling added 10 points with four 2-point baskets and 2 free throws. Zamaurious Robertson had a 2-point basket and two 3-point baskets. Rahmond Hamilton had three 2-point baskets for 6 points. Jazier Walker had two 2-point baskets and 2 free throws to place 6 points onto the scoreboard. Ejan Green added two 2-point baskets for 4 points. Zephaniah Campbell connected for a 2-point basket.
Marlboro County’s Will Jeffcoat led the Bulldogs with 13 points. He had a 2-point basket, three 3-point baskets, and 2 free throws. Ralphier Monroe added 10- points to the scoreboard with two 3-point baskets and two 2-point baskets. Isaih Johnson had two 3-point baskets for 6 points. LaQuincy Leach and Jahdon Covington each added a 2-point basket. Isiah Whitner sank 2 free throws, and Zahkari Parnell sank a free throw.
Dillon will host Georgetown on Tuesday, February 11.
Marlboro County will host Waccamaw on Tuesday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m.
