The 8-3 Dillon Wildcats knocked off the 5-6 Fox Creek Predators in varsity football playoff action in Dillon on Friday, November 7.
The Dillon Wildcats’ Rike Niyongabo scored on a 32-yard pass from Khayel Sam Fong-Talia in the first quarter to start the scoring action. The PAT was good by Khayel Sam Fong-Talia. The Wildcats’ Dominick Felton rushed for a 7-yard touchdown followed by the PAT by Khayel Sam Fong-Talia to close out the scoring in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Dillon’s Khayel Sam Fong-Talia scampered 51 yards for a touchdown. His PAT was good. Dillon led 21-0 at this point. Nibras Harrison was on the receiving end of a 28-yard pass from Khayel Sam Fong-Talia. The PAT was good by Khayel Sam Fong-Talia to give the Dillon Wildcats a 28-0 lead. Dominick Felton scored on a 4-yard run followed by The PAT by Khayel Sam Fong-Talia to go up 35-0 at halftime.
In the third quarter of play, D’rontae McClam returned an interception for a touchdown. Khayel Sam Fong-Talia’s PAT was good. Dillon lead 35-0 . Noah Singletary rushed for an 83-yard touchdown followed by a Khayel Sam-Fong Talai PAT. Dillon led 49-0 after 3 quarters of play.
Fox Creek scored in the fourth quarter on a 3-yard run and was successful on the 2-point conversion.
The Dillon Wildcats ran 37 plays for 317 yards while the Fox Creek Predators ran 66 plays for 215 yards in the game. Dillon had 107 passing yards and 210 rushing yards. Fox Creek had 28 passing yards and 187 rushing yards.
The Dillon Wildcats completed 3 of 7 third downs while Fox Creek completed 4 of 13 third downs.
Dillon’s Khayel Sam Fong-Talia completed 7 of 15 attempted passes for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fox Creek completed 9 of 18 attempted passes for 28 yards and 2 interceptions.
The Wildcats’ Noah Singletary carried 5 times for 106 yards and a touchdown with a long run of 83 yards. K. Sam Fong-Talia carried 5 times for 70 yards and a touchdown with a long run of 51 yards. Dominick Felton carried 5 times for 24 yards and 2 touchdowns wit a long run of 12 yards. Nibras Harrison carried 2 times for 9 yards and a long run of 6 yards. Jucson Ndayisaba caried 1 time for a yard.
Fox Creek carried 43 times for 187 yards and a touchdown with a long run of 21 yards.
The Dillon Wildcats’ Rike Niyongabo had 3 receptions for 43 yards, a touchdown, and a long run of 32 yards. Nibras Harrison had a reception for 28 yards. Zamaurious Robertson had 2 receptions for 18 with a long one of 9 yards. Dominick Felton had an 18-yard reception.
On defense for the Wildcats: Malachi Nelson had 4 solo tackles and 7 assisted tackles. Daniel Capehart had 3 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 1 sack, and a tackle for a loss. Malachi Quick had 3 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle. Donterious Rogers had 3 solo tackles, 1 sack, and 2 tackles for a loss. Dontavious Tanksley had 2 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles, and 2 tackles for a loss. T. McCollum had a solo tackle and 2 assisted tackles. Jaylen Bacote had a solo tackle and 2 assisted tackles. Javarion Davis had a solo tackle and an assisted tackle. Keryien Brown had a solo tackle and 6 assisted tackles. Kelvion Manning had a solo tackle and 4 assisted tackles. Zhimir McLaurin had a solo tackle and 3 assisted tackles. Jalik Alford had a solo tackle and 3 assisted tackles. Kylan Manning had 4 assisted tackles. Rike Niyongabo had an assisted tackle. Dayshawn Adams had 13 assisted tackles. Rontae McClam had 3 assisted tackles. Kamari Allen had 5 assisted tackles. Geo Warren had 2 assisted tackles. Dillon’s Rontae McClam had an interception and scored a TD. Kamari Allen had an interception. Daniel Capehart had a block.
The Wildcats’ Zamaurious Robertson had a 31-yard punt return.
Dillon’s K. Sam Fong-Talia kicked off 8 times for 247 yards with a long one of 56 yards.
JJ Campbel punted twice for the Dillon Wildcats for a 34-yard average with a long one of 36 yards.
