Dillon Wildcats Win 49-7 Over Aynor Blue Jackets

The Dillon Wildcats won 49-7 over the visiting Aynor Blue Jackets at the Dillon Memorial Stadium on Friday, October 11.
The Dillon Band performed prior to the game and throughout the game.
After Aynor and Dillon entered the football playing field, there was a beautiful fireworks display.
Dillon took the opening kickoff and was forced to punt on the first series of downs.
The Aynor Blue Jackets faced a fourth and 2 on their first series of downs and came up short and turned the football over to Dillon on downs.
Dillon’s Rahmond Hamilton threw a completed pass to Zamarious Robertson who carried the pigskin 50 yards. Dillon capitalized on a touchdown on the next play to go up 6-0 with 7:59 remaining in the first quarter. The PAT was good by Stephen Rojas. Dillon led 7-0.
The Aynor Blue Jackets reciprocated with a score by Luke Singleton with 50 seconds remaining in the first quarter. The PAT was good by Luke McCracken to knot the score at 7.
The Wildcats quickly responded with a 48-yard touchdown by Domanick Felton who scampered his way into the end zone with 6 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Stephen Rojas’s PAT was good to give the Wildcats a 14-7 lead after the first quarter.
Aynor received the kickoff and began to move the football as Luke McCracken picked up a huge first down as the Blue Jackets faced a fourth down and 1 yard to go. Once again, the Blue Jackets faced a fourth down and 11 yards to go. An incomplete pass turned the pigskin over to the Wildcats on downs.
Dillon turned the ball over to Aynor on downs.
The Wildcats recovered a fumble with 1:56 remaining in the first half. After an incomplete pass, Domanick Felton once again scampered 48 yards for the score to give Dillon a 20-7 lead. Stephen Rojas converted the PAT, and Dillon went up 21-7 with only 1:39 remaining in the first half.
Time expired in the first half with neither team scoring again.
At halftime, Dillon celebrated homecoming with DHS Principal Timothy Gibbs and DHS’s reigning 2023-2024 Homecoming Queen Janeja Jones and Homecoming King Sirmod McCallum assisted as Gloria McLellan was crowned 2024-2025 Homecoming Queen. Her court consisted of first runner-up Lataisha Alls, second runner-up Da’Kyiah Palmer, and third runner-up Nessiah Moore. The Homecoming King was Dan Graves with the second runner-up Joseph McAllister and first runner-up Daiveon Swindler.
The Aynor Blue Jackets took the opening kickoff of the third quarter and relinquished the football on a failed reverse on the fourth down.
With 9:17 remaining in the third quarter, Domanick Felton scored from 23 yards out, and Stephen Rojas converted the PAT to give Dillon a 28-7 lead.
Aynor’s Luke McCracken kept for a first down on fourth and one from Aynor’s own 39-yard line. McCracken picked up another first down prior to relinquishing the football to the Dillon Wildcats.
With 41 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Dillon’s Rahmond Hamilton fired a completed pass to Zamarious Robertson who scored the touchdown. The PAT was good by Stephen Rojas to give Dillon a 35-7 lead.
Dillon once again took over the football as Aynor’s drive stalled on their own 43-yard line. After a completed 22-yard pass from Rahmond Hamilton to Daquavious Williams, Rahmond Hamilton kept for a 35-yard touchdown with 10:30 remaining in the game. Stephen Rojas’ PAT was good. Dillon led 42-7.
In the waning minutes in the game, the Dillon Wildcats added a touchdown and a PAT to win 49-7 over the visiting Aynor Blue Jackets.
Dillon will host Marlboro County on Friday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m.
Aynor will host Waccamaw on Friday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m.
