The Dillon Wildcats defeated the Carvers Bay Bears 63-48 in varsity basketball played in Dillon on Monday, December 8.
After the Dillon JROTC presented the colors and the singing of the National Anthem, Carvers Bay controlled the tip-off and scored a 2-point basket. One team would score followed by the other team. After the first quarter of play, Dillon led 10-7 with each team committing 4 errors.
By halftime, Dillon had increased the lead to 8 points, 30-22. Dillon committed only 3 fouls in the second quarter while Carvers Bay committed 5 fouls.
The cheerleaders’ performance was intense as the play on the court. At halftime, the Dillon cheerleaders performed. Also, at halftime, one fan was picked to sink a free throw for a prize.
At the end of 3 quarters of play, Dillon led 52-33. Dillon committed 4 fouls while Carvers Bay committed 5 fouls.
In the final quarter of play, the Wildcats scored 9 points while Carvers Bay added 15 points.
The Wildcats have won 3 and lost no game to this point in the season.
Dillon will travel to Latta on Thursday, December 11, for an 8:00 p.m. game. Dillon will host Marion on Saturday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m.
Carvers Bay will travel to Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, December 10, for a 7:30 p.m. game. The Carvers Bay Bears will host Virtus Academy on Saturday, December 13, at 6:00 p.m.
