The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) scheduled its fourth annual VFW Day of Service, a powerful initiative led by veterans across the nation, for the first Saturday in May. This day marks the beginning of impactful veteran-led community service projects that will unfold throughout the month. “By fostering connections and supporting their communities, veterans exemplify the strength of unity. We are eager to witness Day of Service 2025 grow even larger than in previous years, deepening our reach and amplifying our impact in the communities we serve,” said Al Lipphardt.
Dillon County VFW Post 6091 is passionately committed to honoring our veterans through dedicated service, engaging in three impactful service days over two weeks. On April 28th, our devoted members visited veterans at Pruitt Health in Dillon, SC, where they listened to heartfelt stories of bravery and sacrifice. Their journey continued on April 30th at Veterans Village in Florence, SC, a place where camaraderie thrives, followed by meaningful and inspiring interactions on May 7th at both Carlyle Senior Care in Fork, SC, and Thorne Retirement Home in Lake View, SC. During these visits, 30 veterans shared their inspiring experiences, exemplifying their unwavering dedication to our nation. Each veteran was honored with a cherished baseball cap—an emblem of their service—made possible by the generous support of Senator Kent Williams. Members of Post 6091 took the time to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their exceptional care and compassion, recognizing the true impact of their dedication on the lives of these veterans and all residents in their facilities. Join us in celebrating the unwavering spirit of our veterans and the incredible community support that makes these initiatives possible.
