Dillon Softball Wins Over Silver Bluff

The Dillon Lady Wildcats returned home on Tuesday, May 13, with a 6-3 win over Silver Bluff of Aiken.
Not only did the Lady Wildcats win, this was the 100th win for Head Coach Stevie Grice.
The Lady Wildcats wasted little time in scoring as they placed a run onto the scoreboard in the top of the first inning, However, the Lady Bulldogs of Silver Bluff responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the first inning to knot the score at 1.
Neither team could muster a score in the second inning.
In the top of the third inning, Dillon added 2 runs to the scoreboard. Dillon held Silver Bluff scoreless in the bottom of the third inning.
Once again in the fourth inning, neither team scored. Dillon led 3-1 after 4 innings.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats added 2 runs in the top of the fifth inning and held the Silver Bluff Lady Bulldogs without a score in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The sixth inning was scoreless.
In the top of the seventh inning, Dillon scored a run. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Silver Bluff scored 2 runs.
Dillon managed 8 hits in the game while Silver Bluff managed 6 hits. Each team committed 2 errors.
Riley Bowman pitched 7 innings for the Lady Bulldogs. She allowed 8 hits, 6 runs of which 5 were earned, walked 3, and struck out 8 of 33 batters faced.
The Lady Bulldogs’ B. Widener had 2 hits in 4 at-bats. Isabella Kent had a double, a walk, a rbi, and scored a run in 3 plate appearances. Haeley Bowman had a hit, was hit by a pitch, and scored a 4 run in 4 plate appearances. Makayla Allen had a hit and scored a run in 4 at-bats.
Dillon is 12-15-1 and will face the 14-7-1 Hanahan Lady Hawks today, Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m.
