Dillon Returns Home With 41-30 Win Over Waccamaw

The 16-3 Dillon Lady Wildcats returned home on Friday, February 7, with a come-from-behind 41-30 win over the 11-12 Waccamaw Lady Warriors of Pawley’s Island, S.C.
Dillon is 7-0 in Region AAA Region 5 and in first place. Waccamaw is 5-2 in AAA Region 5 and in second place.
After the first quarter of play, Dillon was down 9-2. At halftime, the Lady Wildcats found themselves trailing 15-8. In the third quarter of play, Dillon outscored Waccamaw 13-9 and cut the lead to 3 points, 24-21. In the fourth quarter, Dillon placed 13 points onto the scoreboard while holding Waccamaw to 6 points to take the win.
Dillon’s Khwnylani McKinnon led all scorers with 18 points. She connected for six 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket and 3 free throws. Mariah Campbell had three 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 4 free throws to place 13 points onto the scoreboard. Jiana McGill had three 2-point baskets and a free throw for 7 points. Zynijah Pernell sank 3 free throws.
Waccamaw’s Halina Gregory had two 3-point baskets and a 2-point basket for 8 points. Lilah Jennings added 6 points with three 2-point baskets. Olivia Hodo had tow 2-point baskets and a free throw for 5 points. Viana Bender sank two 2-point baskets for 4 points. Miah Smith had a 2-point basket and a free throw for 3 points. Lily Stratton and Kendall Mason each sank a free throw.
Dillon will host Georgetown on Tuesday, February 11, at 6:00 p.m.
Waccamaw will travel to Bennettsville to face the Marlboro County Lady Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.
