Dillon Returns Home With 39-11 Win Over Aynor

The Dillon Wildcats returned home with a 39-11-win over the Aynor Blue Jackets in varsity football action played in Aynor on Friday, October 10.
The failed Aynor onside kick gave Dillon the football on Dillon’s 38-yard line. Dillon quickly moved the football to Aynor’s 47-yard line, then Aynor’s 33-yard line. With 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter, Dillon was on Aynor’s 11-yard line. Dillon’s Noah Singletary rushed for a 5-yard TD. The PAT was good. Dillon led 7-0.
Aynor began on their own 29-yard line after the kickoff. Aynor faced a fourth down on Dillon’s 39-yard line and managed to pick up a first down. Aynor found themselves on Dillon’s 3-yard line with under a minute to go in the first quarter. The first quarter expired with Dillon leading 7-0. With 11 minutes to go in the first half, Aynor rushed for a 2-yard TD to cut Dillon’s lead to 1 point, 7-6. Aynor rushed for a 2-point conversion to take the lead8-7.
Another failed onside kick gave Dillon the football on Dillon’s own 42-yard line. The drive concluded with a 5-yard pass from Khayel Sam Fong-Talia to Zamaurious Robertson to give Dillon a 13-8 lead. The 2-point pass completion from Khayel Sam Fong-Talia to Zamaurious Robertson gave Dillon a 15-8 lead.
After the kickoff by Dillon, Aynor had possession on their own 20-yard line. Faced with a fourth down, the Blue Jackets punted. Dillon has the football on Aynor’s 29-yard line. The drive was halted as Aynor recovered a Dillon fumble on their own 3-yard line. Aynor moved the football to Dillon’s 14-yard line, and the drive stalled. The Blue Jackets had to settle for a field goal to cut Dillon’s lead to 4 points, 15-11.
Dillon took the kickoff and was on their own 35-yard line.
At halftime, Dillon led 15-11.
Aynor received the opening kickoff of the third quarter and began offense on their own 36-yard line. Dillon began to move the football and soon found themselves on Aynor’s 28-yard line with 5 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Noah Singletary capped off the drive with a 25-yard rushing TD to give the Wildcats a 21-11 lead. The 2-point conversion pass play form Khayel Sam Fong-Talia to Zamaurious Robertson was good. Dillon led 23-11.
After receiving the football, Aynor began on offense on 22-yard line. As time expired in the third quarter, Aynor was on Dillon’s 25-yard line with Dillon leading 23-11. The Blue Jackets moved to Dillon’s 13-yard line before losing yardage back to Dillon’s 17-yard line. Dillon intercepted an Aynor pass and has the football on Dillon’s 43-yard line. The Wildcats quickly moved the football to Aynor’s 4-yard line. From there, Noah Singletary rushed for a 4-yard TD to give Dillon a 29-11 lead with about 5 minutes remaining in the final quarter. Once again, Khayel Sam Fong-Talia and Zamaurious Robertson teamed up for the 2-point conversion pass play to give Dillon a 31-11 lead.
After the Dillon kickoff, Aynor found themselves deep in their own territory on their own 5-yard line. Aynor moved the football to their own 15-yard line. Dillon took possession on downs.
Although Dillon began on Aynor’s 15-yard line, the Wildcats lost 13 yards to the 28-yard line. From there, Khayel Sam Fong-Talia connected with Zamaurious Robertson for a 28-yard pass completion for a touchdown. Noah Singletary rushed for the 2-point conversion. Dillon was up 39-11 with under 2 minutes to play.
Aynor received the kickoff and began on their own 15-yard line. Time expired. Dillon won 39-11 to give Dillon 4 wins and 3 losses for the season.
Dillon will travel to Bennettsville on Friday, October 17, to face Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m.
Aynor will travel to Waccamaw for a 7:05 game on Friday, October 17.
