Dillon Mayor Proclaims Nurses Week

Dillon Mayor Tally McColl proclaimed Nurses Week today (Monday) morning by signing a proclamation at McLeod Health Dillon. Several nurses joined Mayor McColl for the signing as well as hospital administrator Jenny Hardee.
The proclamation reads as follows:
Proclamation
WHEREAS, National Nurses Week is celebrated each year between May 6 and May 12, the birthday of celebrated nurse Florence Nightingale; and,
WHEREAS, Nurses are extraordinary individuals who display courage, care, and dedication and commitment in caring for others; and
WHEREAS, Nurses work to promote wellness and help prevent disease and reduce health risks at the population level through evidence-based care and education; and
WHEREAS, It is more important than ever to celebrate nurses across all fields for their unwavering care and dedication for their patients and communities.
WHEREAS, National Nurses Week honors the contributions and sacrifices of nurses and serves as a reminder to thank the medical professionals who keep individuals and communities healthy; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Nicholas Tally McColl, Mayor of the City of Dillon, in cooperation with the national observance do hereby proclaim May 6-12, 2024 as
“National Nurses Week 2024”
In Dillon, South Carolina and encourage our citizens to honor nurses of every specialty and to recognize the vital role they play in caring for our residents.
