The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated the Conway Lady Tigers 38-23 in Conway on Friday, December 13, in varsity girls basketball action.
Dillon took a 3-1 lead in the first quarter in the low-scoring game. Dillon committed 3 fouls while Conway committed only 2 fouls. In the second quarter, Dillon outscored Conway 14-4 while committing 2 fouls, and Conway committed 3 fouls.
In the third quarter, Dillon added 9 points to the scoreboard, and Conway added 5 points. Each team committed 3 fouls. In the final quarter of play, Conway outscored Dillon 13 to 12. Each team committed 5 fouls in the final quarter.
Each team had 5 players to score in the game.
Dillon’s Khwnylahi McKinnon led all scorers with 11 points. She connected for four two-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 free throws. Ayonna Lester added 10 points with two 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 free throws. Treasure Davis had four 2-point baskets and a free throw to place 9 points onto the scoreboard. Zynijah Pernell had a 2-point basket, a 3-point basket, and a free throw for 6 points. Jiana McGill sank a free throw.
Dillon will play in the Robeson County Shootout December 18 through 21.
The Conway Lady Tigers will travel to Loris on Monday, December 16, for a 6:00 p.m. non-region game.
