Dillon Lady Wildcats Defeat Aynor 54-33 In Varsity Basketball

Treasure Davis is fouled

The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated The Aynor Lady Blue Jackets 54-33 in varsity basketball action played in Dillon on Tuesday, January 13.
Dillon controlled the tip-off and Zynijah Pernell quickly sank a 3-pointer to take the lead. Treasure Davis was fouled and added a free throw for Dillon.
The Dillon cheerleaders got behind the Lady Wildcats and got the crowd involved in the game.
After the first quarter of play, Dillon was up 12-6 over Aynor. Dillon committed 2 fouls in the first quarter while Aynor committed 3 fouls.
At halftime, Dillon was up 37-16. Dillon committed 4 fouls while Aynor committed 2 fouls.
All nine of the Dillon players were involved in the game as Dillon substituted often.
After 3 quarters of play, the Dillon Lady Wildcats held a 19-point lead, 46-27. The aggressive play contributed to Dillon having 4 fouls in the third quarter while the Aynor Lady Blue Jackets committed 2 fouls.
In the final quarter of the game, each team committed only 1 foul.
Dillon ended the game with all nine players scoring…a first for the season!
Dillon’s head coach is James McMillian who has been coaching for over 20 years, and the assistant coach is Michelle Keys-Gibbons.
The 13-2 Dillon Lady Wildcats will host Marlboro County on Friday, January 16, at 6:00 p.m.
The 13-2 Aynor Lady Blue Jackets will travel to Waccamaw on Friday, January 16, for a 6:00 p.m. game.
