Dillon Kiwanis Holds Opening Ceremony

The Dillon Kiwanis Club held the opening ceremony for the new season at the Dillon Kiwanis Michael S. Lecholop Park on the Ray Wilson Field on Tuesday, April 8.
Rev. Matt Adams, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Dillon, offered a prayer for the season.
The singing of the National Anthem was by Kaniya Owens.
Excitement filled the air with all of the teams and spectators present.
People cheered as the players and coaches of each team were announced.
“Mr. Kiwanian”, Lonnie Turner, was introduced by City of Dillon Mayor Tally McColl. Mr. Turner thanked everyone for the tremendous support he has received over the years whild in charge of the Dillon Kiwanis organization.
Former City of Dillon City Manager and Recreation Director Glen Wagner was recognized for his many years of service to the community and the Kiwanis program.
Mr. Wagner threw out the ceremonial first pitch to begin the season.
The opening game of the season was between the Dillon Dental Giants and the Physicians Healthcare Yankees.
