The Richmond County Raiders defeated the West Florence Knights 22-6 in the third match-up in the Dillon Jamboree of Champions played on Friday, August 15, at Dillon Memorial Stadium.
The snap sailed over the head of the Richmond County quarterback that moved the ball from the 30-yard line to the 8-yard line. A pass attempt to #5 for the Raiders was broken up by #12 of West Florence. Richmond County was forced to punt.
West Florence turned the ball over on downs.
After being sacked for an 8-yard loss, the Raiders’ quarterback, #12, carried for a first down. After a 2-yard carry by #4 of the Raiders, #8 of the Raiders caught a pass and scored with 1:03 remaining in the first quarter. #4, Crowder, carried the pigskin into the end zone for the 2-point conversion. After the first quarter of play, Richmond County led 8-0.
The West Florence Knights recovered an over-the-head of the Raiders’ quarterback and scored a touchdown with 8:15 remaining in the second quarter.
A pass completion to Richmond County’s #2 for a TD with 5:30 remaining was nullified due to a penalty. With 5:21 remaining, the Raiders’ quarterback, #12, threw a touchdown pass to #2. The PAT was good by #35 to give Richmond County a 15-6 lead.
Richmond County recovered a West Florence fumble. With 40 seconds remaining, Richmond County scored on a pass from #11 to #5. The PAT was good by #35 to give the Raiders a 22 to 6 win over the Knights.
