The third reading of Dillon School District Four budget was approved at their June meeting giving Superintendent Ray Rogers technical authority to adjust the budget as needed due to the state budget not yet being finalized.
The following are the general fund budget highlights as taken verbatim from Chief Financial Officer Bryan Rivenbark’s presentation:
• There is “an overall budget increase of .382 percent ($130,788) from $34,269,670 in Fiscal Year 2023-2024 to $34,400,458 in Fiscal Year 2024-2025.”
• “Beginning Teacher salary increased to $47,000 from $42,500 in fiscal year in fiscal year 2023-2024. All certified teachers with less than 28 years experience will also receive a step increase.”
• “The budget includes a $2,500 increase in non-teaching positions as follows:
-Classified employees on District Salary Schedules for their respective positions will receive at least a $2,500 increase. In addition, employees with less than twenty eight years experience will also receive a step increase.”
-“District administrators and other non-teaching employees not on above salary schedules will receive a 3 percent or $2,500 increase in salary whichever is greater.”
“The budget includes two one-time bonuses for employees in this category of $1,000 each.”
• “Employer Contribution Rates For State Health Plans Increased 5.90 percent. (Total State Health Plan Increase is 11.80 percent)”
• “Property and Casualty Insurance Premiums increased 3.58 percent.”
• “Band Uniforms for Dillon High School.”
