Dillon District Four Announces Continued Participation In Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program

Dillon School District Four Superintendent Ray Rogers and Office of Food Services Coordinator Missy Moody are pleased to announce the continued participation in the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program for the 2024-2025 school year at Lake View Elementary, Dillon Elementary, and Gordon Elementary.
The goals of the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program (FFVP) are to create healthier school environments by providing healthier food choices; expand the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience; increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption and make a difference in children’s diets to impact their present and future health.
Dillon School District Four is pleased to be participating in the FFVP because it provides all elementary school students a healthy and nutritious snack twice a week. This fresh fruit and vegetable grant will help ensure elementary students will have access to fresh produce that they may not be introduced to otherwise such as jicama, mango, pineapple, papaya, avocado, and kiwi just to mention a few of the items to be served, while also supporting their physical and academic growth.
