Dillon County Station Two Units were dispatched to Weatherford Dr. for a reported structure fire. The first-arriving officer (LF3) confirmed a large, single-story residence with heavy fire involvement in the rear of the structure.
Crews made an aggressive interior push through the front door, initiating fire attack and a primary search. The primary search was completed with negative results. Fire suppression operations were challenged by wind-driven fire conditions, extending control efforts; however, interior crews continued operations and successfully brought the fire under control.
Mutual aid was provided by Marlboro County, supplying additional manpower and a tanker, which was instrumental in sustained operations. Units operated on scene for several hours conducting overhaul and ensuring complete extinguishment of all remaining hot spots.
We would like to thank all responding agencies and volunteers for their dedication and teamwork during this incident.
