Dillon County Firefighters attended the State Weekend at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. State weekend consists of firefighters from South Carolina, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. They attended classes, discussed different tactics and skills with other fire officers, and attended a ceremony for firefighters who have died in the line of duty. They also went to Gettysburg National Park and took a vehicle tour around the battlefield grounds.
