Dillon County Council Approves Contract Extension and Modifications For County Administrator Tim Harper

By Betsy Finklea
The Dillon County Council approved a contract extension and modifications of the previous contract for Dillon County Administrator Tim Harper at their June meeting.
Harper signed the contract extension on June 26, 2025. This extends the original contract that he was given on January 24, 2023.
The initial contract called for an annual salary of $128,000. The contract extension raises this salary to $139,280 beginning July 1, 2025 and thereafter unless the County Council gives him an increase.
The term of the contract extension is from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 with an automatic one-year extension unless he is terminated.
Harper’s vehicle allowance increases from $7,200 per year ($600 per month) to $8,400 per year ($700 per month).
The period for termination of employment reduces to 30 days written notice instead of 90 days.
The rest of the original contract remains intact. He will continue to get $1200 per year ($100 month) for a cell phone or other mobile device. The county will continue to pay his professional dues and subscriptions for his participation in nation, regional, state, and local professional associations. Other details such as his responsibilities, bonding, insurance, retirement, evaluations, sick pay and annual leave, etc. remain the same as the original contract.
