Dillon County, SC – August 26, 2025 — Right now, 60 children in Dillon County are counting on just 8 volunteer advocates to stand up for them in Family Court. The Cass Elias McCarter Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program is urgently seeking volunteers to be a voice for abused and neglected children and free online training makes it easy to get started.
Upcoming Virtual Training Dates:
September 30 & October 27, 2025
Guardian ad Litem volunteers visit children monthly, gather important information, and speak up for their best interests in court. No legal background is needed, just a heart for kids and 4–5 hours a month.
“Our volunteers serve as strong advocates, upholding children’s best interests and prioritizing their well-being. With every child served needing a voice, the call to action grows for dedicated volunteers to step forward.” says Jennifer Burch, Director of the Cass Elias McCarter Guardian ad Litem Program.
