Dillon County Administrator Tim Harper was selected to serve as a Vice-Chair on the Membership Committee for National Association of Counties (NACO).
Harper has served as Dillon County Administrator since February 27, 2023. Prior to coming to Dillon County, he served as Marion County Administrator from 2007-2023. He has extensive governmental and first responder education experience having served as a part-time instructor at Southeastern Community College from 1998-2013; city administrator and city planner for the City of Marion from 2002-2007; the administrator for the Town of Rowland from 2000-2002; the Director of Emergency Services Education at Robeson Community College from 1991-1999; an instructor at Robeson Community College from 1984-1991; and a Regional Planner for the Lumber River Council of Governments from 1983-1991.
Harper is a 1981 graduate of Pembroke State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Administration.
Harper is married to Rose Price Harper, and they have one son, Walt Harper, who serves in the U.S. Air Force.
