Dillon County 4-H Shooting Team Starts 2024-2025 Season

The Dillon County 4H Shooting Team has begun their 2024-2025 season. Over 20 youth from Dillon and neighboring counties have joined the team and practice regularly at the Dillon County Rifle and Gun Club.
The DCRGC has graciously hosted the 4H shooting team for years and offers a convenient and full service location for these youth to practice both skeet and trap. If you know youth that would be interested in joining this club they are encouraged to come and check it out. They can register for this team or one of the other great programs that 4H supports using the following link: https://v2.4honline.com/#/user/sign-in. It is not too late to join.
The team recently completed a fundraiser in partnership with Shulers BBQ where they sold boston butts. Shulers has been a longtime supporter of the team and we appreciate their continued commitment. The team is actively pursuing grants, funding and sponsorships to help continue the work that former coach Bill Aston put into action with “Keeping the Dream Alive.” Although Bill passed away last year, the team seeks to continue the vision that Bill had for the club.
Team members will be competing in the SCTP 4H Skeet Qualifier at Moree’s Sportmans Preserve on October 19th. This is the first event of the season that starts in September and runs through May.
The focus of all 4H programs is the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. The shooting sports is an example of this with youth learning marksmanship, safe and responsible use of firearms, principles of hunting and much more.
