The City of Dillon Council passed a balanced budget with minimal increases in taxes and fees for the 2025-2026 budget year at the final reading on Monday night.
The total budget for the general fund is $7,532,588. There are no capital purchases included in the general fund budget. No money was taken out of the depreciation fund and no loans were needed to balance the budget.
The budget does include a $1200 pay increase for every employee, which for the average employee is an approximately three percent raise across the board.
The budget includes a 3-mil tax increase. For a $100,000 home, this is an increase of $12 on the tax bill. For a $200,000 home, this is an increase of $24 on the tax bill.
There is a five percent sanitation increase. This will take the cost for a residential roll cart from $35.68 per month to $37.47 per month, a $1.79 increase.
The water and sewer total budget is $4,708,744. There are capital purchases included in this budget including a vehicle, a tractor, and a cutter.
There will be a 3 percent increase in the water base cost.
No one appeared to make a public comment about the budget at Monday night’s meeting.
The budget passed unanimously.
