Dillon Christian School has taken an important step in strengthening campus safety with the installation of three new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across the campus. The lifesaving devices are now available in key locations to ensure rapid response in the event of a cardiac emergency involving students, staff, or visitors.
AEDs are portable devices designed to analyze heart rhythm, and if necessary, deliver a shock to help restore a normal heartbeat during sudden cardiac arrest. Quick access to an AED, along with immediate CPR, can dramatically increase survival rates before emergency medical services arrive.
The three units have been strategically placed in high-traffic and high-activity areas, including athletic and common-use spaces, allowing staff and first responders to quickly access them during school hours and after-school events. In addition to the installation, school personnel have received training in CPR and AED use to ensure they are prepared to act in an emergency.
“At Dillon Christian School, the safety and well-being of our students is always a top priority. These AEDs provide an added layer of protection and peace of mind for our families, staff, and community. We pray we never have to use them, but we are thankful to be better prepared,” said Brent Hardy, Head of School.
The addition of the AEDs reflects Dillon Christian School’s ongoing commitment to proactive safety measures and responsible stewardship of the school environment. Parents and community members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the locations of the devices and consider CPR/AED training as well.
With these new resources in place, Dillon Christian School continues to prioritize a safe, prepared, and caring campus for all who walk through its doors.
