Dillon ATEC Culinary Arts Prepares Students For Careers In Food Production and Service Industry

Culinary Arts 1, 2, and Baking & Pastry courses are taught by Ms. Ezria Lighty.
Culinary Arts Management 1 prepares students for gainful employment and/or entry into postsecondary education in the food production and service industry.
Culinary Arts Management 2 is a n advanced level course that prepares the serious culinary students for gainful employment and /or entry into postsecondary education. Students have opportunities to acquire marketable skills by examining both the industry and its career options. Students have opportunities to develop skills in workplace settings. The students have an opportunity to complete.
Some of the students are Dillon County Technology Center competed in the Pro-Start Invitational against high school, college, and industry individuals.
The students also attended “boot camp” weekend training on cutlery skills, ServSafe food handler, and some on ServSafe management.
Baking and Pastry provides students an opportunity to develop foundational skills needs for a seamless transition to a postsecondary program, workforce, or military.
Some of the students were preparing cookies in 6 different methods such as bars sheet.
