The Dillon Lady Wildcats advanced with a 62-55 win over the St. Pauls Lady Bulldogs in the Robeson County Shootout in varsity basketball action on Friday, December 19.
The Lady Wildcats led 21-7 after the first quarter of play. At halftime, Dillon led 34-24. After 3 quarters of play, the Lady Wildcats had 43 points to St. Pauls’ 35 points.
Dillon’s K. McKinnon led the Lady Wildcats with 29 points. She had seven 2-point baskets, three 3-point baskets, and 6 free throws. Treasure Davis added 19 points to the scoreboard with seven 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 2 free throws. A. Ford had a 2-point basket and was perfect at the free throw line with 4 points to add 6 points to the scoreboard. Z. Pernell had a 2-point basket and a 3-point basket for 5 points. J. McGill had a 2-point basket and a free throw for 3 points.
St. Pauls’ Z. Shipman led all scorers with 34 points. She had nine 2-point baskets, three 3-point baskets, and 7 free throws. Z. Cox had three 3-point baskets and a 2-point basket for 11 points. C. Montgomery added 7 points with three 2-point baskets and a free throw. N. Sherrano had a 3-point basket.
