SCDNR is pleased to announce Will Dillman as the new Deputy Director of the Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division.
Dillman holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology from the University of South Carolina. Before joining SCDNR, he worked as an aquatic biologist with SC DHEC (DES). In 2013, he joined SCDNR’s Wildlife Section as the Herpetology Program Coordinator. By 2018, he had advanced to Assistant Chief of Wildlife, where he oversaw statewide projects, research, and survey. His responsibilities have included supervision of bird conservation, big game, bat, small game, herpetology, alligator, furbearer, lottery hunts and permitting programs. Dillman has effectively built relationships and fostered collaboration within Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries and with other internal and external partners.
