The Dillon High School Varsity Baseball teams partnered with the Dillon Kiwanis on Saturday, February 22, to offer instruction, baseball drills, and baseball practice to the Dillon Kiwanis youth.
Dillon High School Athletic Director/Head Baseball Coach and Junior Varsity Head Baseball Coach Austin Moody and their coaching staffs consisting of Coley Bohachic and others. Also, Dillon’s Gordon Elementary Instructor, Pierce Watson, and Coach Lee Page were present with many of the Dillon Kiwanis including Daryl “Peanut” Miller, Coley Bohachic, Ryan Berry, Bobby Meekins, and others were there such as Rev. Matt Adams. Additionally, some members of the Dillon High School varsity baseball team were present to assist with the instruction, drills, and baseball practice. Not present on this occasion was Mr. Lonnie Turner, a “lifetime fixture” with the Dillon Kiwanis.
There were also some fans who braved the windy and cold 40-degree weather.
After everyone “warmed up” and did some exercise, the drills and instructions began. Emphasis was placed on batting, fielding, throwing, etc. The youngsters appeared to have a great time learning from the older ones.
Dillon is fortunate to have the active support of the Dillon Kiwanis Club.
The Dillon Kiwanis Michael S. Lecholop Park on the Ray Wilson Field is located on Julia Lane, Dillon.
Sign ups for the Dillon Kiwanis baseball youth program continues through February 28 at the Family Sport Center, 113 East Main Street, Dillon.
