The Dillon County Transportation Committee recently approved the next batch of roads to be paved.
In October of each year, members of the committee inspect the roads in the county and rank the roads they think are the worst ones. This information is compiled and then the committee meets and determines which roads they are going to fund, the amount of the funding they are going to designate to each road, and where the funds they have will have the most impact.
The roads selected included:
-Cashua Ferry Road: $435,000
-Hayestown Road from Parsonage Road to Bermuda Road: $1,722,021.45 (Note: This portion of the road is in addition to what the state is doing so this road will be resurfaced in its entirety.)
-West Hampton Street: $99,013.90
-South Railroad Avenue (Dillon): $122,809.03
