BLACKVILLE, S.C. – The annual Clemson Extension Peanut, Cotton, Vegetable and Fruit Field Day will be held Sept. 5, 2024, at the Edisto Research and Education Center, 64 Research Road, Blackville, South Carolina 29817.
Two field tours – the Peanut Field Tour and the Vegetable Fruit Field Tour – will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 am. Participants will choose one tour to follow. A trade show will be held 30 minutes preceding lunch and 30 minutes following lunch. Following lunch, a Cotton Field Tour will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Variety updates: Discover the latest in advancements in peanut, sweet potato and pumpkin varieties tailored for optimal yield and resilience in our region.
Irrigation costs: Learn the latest about irrigation pumping costs, drip irrigated and dryland sweet potato production and irrigation automation.
Irrigation automation in cotton: Learn how to increase water use efficiency by automating irrigation.
Viruses and diseases: Learn what to do if you detect ring nematode in peanut, target spot and false mildew in cotton, as well as peach diseases.
Insect pest and disease management: Equip yourself with the latest strategies to tackle insect pests and diseases, ensuring healthier and more productive crops.
Weed control: Get the latest insights on effective weed management techniques to keep fields clean and competitive.
Fertilization: Understand best practices for fertilization to enhance crop nutrition and maximize growth potential.
