Dillon High School star softball athlete Cierra Grice took the next step in her softball and academic career as she signed with Presbyterian College on Wednesday, December 18, at noon, at Dillon High School.
She has played the sport of softball that she loves since she was only 4 years old.
She was influenced most by her sister and her Dad. She always wanted to be like her sister and just as good as her. Her Dad always pushed her to be the best.
Grice also played volleyball for DHS until her Junior year of high school.
Although she received other offers such as USC Upstate, Grice believes she is a fit for Presbyterian College as the college offers a Pharmacy School and that is what she plans on doing in the future. She will major in Biology.
The one item you remembers the most from her career in softball is going to the state championship while in the eighth grade.
Grice plays third base, catcher, and shortstop. She will carry her knowledge of the game with her to the next level.
While playing on the DHS softball team, Grice garnered awards such as 4 times All-Region and 2 times All-State plus participated in the Lower State Championship in 2021 and Lower State Runner-up from 2022-2024.
When not playing or practicing softball or studying, she enjoys hanging out with friends and cooking.
Cierra Grice’s batting average while at Dillon High School to this point is .388. She has 74 rbi, 3 homeruns, and 158 hits. Her fielding % is .920.
Stevie Grice, her Father and DHS Head Softball Coach, commented “I’m proud of all of our hard work on the field and in the classroom. I am excited to watch you and your sister play together again at the next level.”
DHS Athletic Director Keith Coward stated “Cierra has represented Dillon High School so well over her career as an athlete and a student. She has excelled on the field and in the classroom, and I have no doubts she will continue to do the same when she gets to Presbyterian. We are proud to call her one of our own and we look forward to seeing the great things she has in her future.”
