Hough has been a dedicated employee with the State of South Carolina since 2013 in state law enforcement. She began her law enforcement career in 2013 with the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services and transitioned to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in 2016. Throughout her career she has been recognized and acknowledged for her continued efforts in mentoring youth, being a voice for sexual assault survivors, being a voice for those who suffer from mental health issues, and for her involvement within communities throughout the Pee Dee.

She is the author of Destined to Live: It Was Necessary. Published in 2018, this book was birthed to encourage, push, and motivate those who have faced hardships physically, emotionally, and mentally. Knowing and understanding how to trust the process during life’s challenges and obstacles is necessary to bring forth the purpose that is within everyone.

She is active in church and is involved with the youth at several schools across the Pee Dee. Hough has also been a women and youth empowerment speaker since 2015. She has continued to use the voice that God has given her to connect with others, challenging and pushing them into their purpose, and encouraging them to be the best version of themselves regardless of life’s obstacles.

Best advice received: The best advice I have received is to give myself grace. I have always been hard on myself and have been my worst critic when I have made mistakes. I’ve felt like it was the end of the world. I found myself beating myself up over the smallest things. However, I had to learn that it is okay to make mistakes; it is okay to not get it right every time. Give yourself grace…

Hobbies/spare time: Spending time with my son and other family and friends, singing, gardening, going to museums, traveling, enjoying nature, working out, and also taking time to enjoy peace, relaxation, and quiet moments

Key to success: Be dedicated to your future endeavors and allow God to order your steps. He will orchestrate divine connections. Understand that there are no limits or boundaries to the goals or aspirations you have set for yourself. You must see it before you see it. If you can see it and have faith in what you have seen or dreamt of, it will be manifested!

Biggest accomplishment: Writing my first book is one of my biggest accomplishments. I was going through a rough time in life, and I found peace and strength in sharing my story to help others who may have experienced some of the obstacles I was faced with.
